As you can see it's not so offensive once the shades were put back up. I have HomeSeer open the shades automatically at 7:00 AM on the weekdays and close them every night at 8:30 PM. I also have a modified Hawkeye used as a door monitor. I found out how to modify the Hawkeye on Ido's sight.

If the door is open and it's time to close the shades, HomeSeer will close the shades and then open them back up a foot or so, so that we still have airflow in the bedroom. If the door gets closed and it's after dusk, HS will close the shades right away. I also have a four button X-10 wall switch right by the door to manually operate the shades when needed.

That's it! I have the voice commands set under HS so I can call in and open the shade too. My buddy smiled and shook his head when I called the house from the back yard and closed the shades. He He..... :) Another successful project!
